Most trustees recognize that their role is fiduciary, supervisory – not investment advisory. In most cases the trustee typically outsource the investment of the trust funds to qualified and experienced investment professionals, such as ourselves. We ensure that trust assets are not ravaged by unnecessary management charges or imprudent investment decisions.

Do you plan to accumulate trust income and gains over many years, even decades?  If the beneficiaries are minors, distributions may not start till they’re adults. If so, your investment strategy may be focused on accumulation and preservation of trust assets , Alternatively, if your trust is already distributing funds to beneficiaries, the emphasis may be more on income generation and the liquidity of those assets. At all times you’ll need to preserve sufficient funds till the objectives of the trust have been fully met. In this case, budgeting and future cash-flow modelling may be appropriate . Smaller trusts may invest their assets in ‘unitised’ investments whereas a direct holding of specific stocks, shares, bonds etc. might be suitable with larger sums of money. It will always be important to ensure that the running costs of any investment strategy are competitive and transparent at all times.

Why Us?

As we all know, even the best made plans can go off track and having a dependable advisor ‘in your corner’ is essential. We’ll help you with the overall investment but also with the shorter-term tactics, which may need to be nimble.

When we work with other trustee clients, here’s some of the things that they say are important to them from our relationship…

Competitive & Flexible Pricing Structures

Due to the arrangements that we have in place with the major investment houses, our clients often benefit from our added-value input (initial and ongoing) whilst also enjoying good value on the underlying fees and charges that apply. At the client’s election, our remuneration can be met as part of the provider’s fees above or by way of professional fees to the trustees themselves

Minimising risks for any given investment strategy

Allocating funds among various investment vehicles and asset classes is at the heart of what we do. Certain asset classes exhibit different market dynamics and correlations – so, for example, a fall in equity prices might be compensated somewhat within the fund by a rise in commodities. Getting the correct mix can contribute to achieving desired returns – but managing downside risk, which is often of paramount importance to trustees

Impartial advice

We’re on ‘your side of the desk’ when it comes to helping you to choose your investment partners. We have access to, but are not tied to any of, the major financial institutions. We can shop around on your behalf and we don’t promote any in-house financial products

Advice that’s easy to understand

We’re aware that investment advice, acronyms and language confusing, sometimes daunting. We’ll demystify all that and provide investment advice and ongoing commentary to you in a way that is concise and easily understood.

We’d love an opportunity to work with you into the future. Please find our contact details below.
